What a free AI astrology chat is

A free AI astrology chat is a conversation about your own birth chart, typed rather than booked. You give your date, time and place of birth once, the chart is calculated, and then you ask questions in plain words — about work, a relationship, a hard year, or what one placement in your chart means. An AI astrologer answers from the positions in that chart. It is AI astrology in the literal sense: a Vedic astrology engine does the calculation, and the AI's job is to explain what was calculated.

That order matters. Plenty of chatbots that call themselves a free AI astrologer write a reply first and decorate it with astrology words afterwards. Here the chart comes first, its facts are fixed before your question is read, and the answer is built from them. Ask the same thing twice and you are still asking about the same chart. That is the difference between an astrology free chat that is useful and a horoscope generator.

How it reads your Rashi chart and current dasha

When you start, the engine computes your Rashi chart (D1) in the sidereal zodiac used in Jyotish. For each of the nine grahas — Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu — it records the sign, the degree, the house counted sign by sign from your Lagna, the nakshatra, and whether the planet is retrograde. Those rows and the Lagna itself are the chart facts the AI is given. It is the same information an astrologer reads off a printed kundli, which is why people also call this an AI kundali reading.

Then it adds time. The Vimshottari dasha, described in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, divides a 120-year cycle among the nine grahas, starting from the lord of the nakshatra the Moon occupied at your birth. The chat is told which mahadasha you are running today, which antardasha sits inside it, and when each one ends. Most “why now?” questions are really dasha questions, so this is often the most useful line in the whole chart. Each mahadasha lord has its own guide further down this page if you want to read about your period first.

Every message also carries today's date in Indian time, so “this year” and “next month” mean the same thing to you and to the chat. Your last few exchanges are kept, so a follow-up question can build on the answer before it instead of starting again.

If you don't know your birth time

Tick “I don't know my birth time” and the chat still works, with an honest limit. The Lagna changes sign roughly every two hours and the houses move with it, so without a time there is no Lagna and no house-based reading. Instead, the chart is computed at the first and the last minute of your birth date, and only the facts that agree at both ends are used: usually the Moon's sign and nakshatra, the sign of each planet, and the running mahadasha and antardasha. Anything that changed during that day is marked uncertain, and the AI is told not to lean on it.

The chart chip above the chat then reads “Birth time unknown — Moon-based reading”, so you always know which kind of answer you are getting. Reading from the Moon is the traditional fallback when the time is lost, and the Moon sign (rashi) calculator shows the same Moon position in more detail.

What the free chat can and can't check

The free chat is deliberately narrow. It sees the Rashi chart and the dasha, and nothing else. That still covers a lot: the sign and house of each planet, planets sharing a sign, the Moon's nakshatra, which planet rules which house, and the timing frame the dasha sets. For a first look at a question, that is usually enough to say which planets and houses are involved and why.

It does not compute divisional charts — the Navamsa (D9) chart that marriage and dignity questions lean on, the D10 for career, or any of the others. It does not weigh planetary strength through shadbala or ashtakavarga, does not follow transits day by day, and does not test yogas or doshas. When an answer would need one of those layers, the chat says so instead of guessing, and it may point you to the reading that does compute them. The paid astrology readings run the full set of calculations on the same chart and write a report around your actual question.

It also has no verdicts to give. Astrology here is a classical reading of positions and periods, not a prediction of events with certainty, and it is not medical, legal or financial advice. Questions about health, about a death in the family, or about whether one person is right for you get the factors the chart shows — never a yes or a no.

Questions that work well

Ask about one thing at a time and name it plainly. A specific question gets a specific answer; “tell me everything” gets a summary. Good places to start:

  • What does my current mahadasha and antardasha usually bring for work?
  • Which houses and planets in my chart describe partnership?
  • My Moon is in Scorpio in the 4th house — what does that mean?
  • Is Saturn's placement a reason this period feels slow?
  • Where is my Lagna lord, and what does that placement say?

Write in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, English or any language you like — the chat replies in the language of your question, up to 600 characters each. It reads one chart at a time; for two charts, such as a couple before marriage, use kundli matching instead.

Your birth details and privacy

Your date, time and place of birth are used to calculate your chart facts and are not stored as such. What is kept is the derived chart summary — planet signs, houses, nakshatras and the dasha lines — and a one-way keyed fingerprint that lets the same chart be recognised when you come back. Your questions and the answers are kept for 30 days, so the conversation can continue and an answer still reaches you if your connection drops; then they are deleted.

To run the free allowance, a random identifier is saved in your browser and a question count is linked to it, or to your account once you sign in. Nothing else is needed to start: no name, no email address, no phone number. Deleting your account deletes the chat records linked to it. The full details are in the privacy policy.

How it differs from the full AI astrologer

The free chat is a short, chart-grounded conversation: ten answered questions a month — three without signing in, and seven more once you sign in with Google — each one built from your D1 chart and your dasha. A question only counts when its answer is delivered; if an answer fails, nothing is used up.

The full AI astrologer is a paid consultation with more of the chart in view — divisional charts, strengths, transits and timing — for as many topics as you bring to one session. If the free chat has shown you which question really matters, talk to the full AI astrologer when you want the deeper calculation behind it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AI astrology chat really free?

Yes. Each calendar month (Indian time) you get three answered questions without signing in, and seven more after you sign in with Google or a verified email — ten in all. No card is asked for, and a question only counts when an answer is delivered.

Do I need an exact birth time?

No, but it helps. With an exact time the chat reads your Lagna and houses. Without one it gives a Moon-based reading from the facts that stay the same all day — usually the Moon's sign and nakshatra, each planet's sign and the running dasha — and it tells you that the Lagna and houses are not available.

What does the AI astrologer look at before answering?

Your Rashi chart (D1): the Lagna and, for each of the nine grahas, its sign, degree, house, nakshatra and retrograde state — plus your current Vimshottari mahadasha and antardasha with their end dates, today's date and your last few messages. It does not see divisional charts, planetary strengths or transits.

Is this an AI kundali reading?

It reads your kundli's main chart: the positions an astrologer would read from a printed Rashi chart are the facts the AI answers from. It is a focused reading of that chart and your current dasha, not a full horoscope report.

Are my birth details stored?

No. They are used to calculate your chart and are not kept. The derived chart facts, a one-way fingerprint of the details, and your questions and answers are kept for 30 days and then deleted. Deleting your account deletes the chat records linked to it.

Can it predict marriage, health or exact events?

No. It explains what your chart and dasha show in classical terms, and where a question would need deeper calculations. It does not give yes-or-no predictions, medical advice or certainties about events.

How is this different from the paid AI astrologer?

The free chat answers from your D1 chart and dasha, up to ten questions a month. The paid AI astrologer works with more of the chart — divisional charts, strengths and transits — in one longer consultation. Many people start here and go deeper once they know what they want to ask.

Which languages can I use?

Any language you write in. The chat replies in the language of your question, so you can ask in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, English or another language.

Read about your dasha

The chat names your running mahadasha. Each guide below covers one lord: its years, the nakshatras that open it, and how its antardashas run.
